The town of the emperors and bishops has been shaped by thousand years of architectural art. Like Rome, built on seven hills, and like Venice, full of canals, Bamberg was established in a big valley of the river Regnitz.

The old part of Bamberg is a monument-protected artwork between strict gothic and civil baroque styles.

Special objects of interest are the emperor cathedral with the famous “Bamberger Reiter”, the old court-yard and the new residence, as well as the old city hall and the fisher houses in ”little Venice”.

Apart from a first-class cultural programme, for example the concerts of the “Bamberger Symphoniker” or performances in the “ETA - Hoffmann – Theater”, Bamberg additionally offers various shopping possibilities, lots of fun and recreation.
